MBC Missions Programs

The Missions Program as it stands now could be viewed as a dual program. It can be broken down first into the International or Foreign Missions program and the second as the Local Missions program.

International Missions focuses on endeavors to gain and support missionaries in foreign fields around the world and as well as those in isolated areas of our own country. We currently support three missionaries: the Thatchers (Ireland), Lisa Lewis (Togo, Africa), and the Pittmans (currently on deputation to go to Australia). Every year MBC brings in several missionaries who may be on deputation or furlough which allows us to get an understanding of their particular mission. In 2009, MBC held a missions conference to allow pending missionaries to report on their preparation and current missionaries the opportunity to report on their work on the field. This also allows MBC to look at the possibility of adding other missionaries to our missions program.

Our Local Missions program is in its infancy stage. In 2009, MBC began exploring ways for the church to spread the gospel in our community. The church has begun a bus ministry so that many children can attend Sunday School and Master's Club. The church also holds a monthly church service for the residents at a local nursing home.

We pray that God will direct us in these different areas so that we can be a beacon of light in our local community

Acts 1:8 says, "...and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." Believing missions to be a ministry that occurs simultaneously with the efforts of the local church, and believing missions to be part of Maranatha Baptist Church's responsibility to fulfill the Great Commission, it is our desire to spread the gospel through the support of missions.

Maranatha Baptist Church also believes that it is important to meet the needs of those missionaries whom we support. In providing their needs, Maranatha Baptist Church has compiled a list of things that have been requests in past years. If you would like to contribute but do not know what may be needed, the following list is provided for a spring board. This list is not limited to these items only but if unsure please check with Nina Sawade.
